My PhilosophyI am inspired by the diversity of language, the simplicity and power of a single thought, and the enduring challenges of this creative process called writing.
As a writer, I am often asked one question:
What do you write?
It's a natural question, but as a writer, I find myself wanting to respond with another question:
Who are you trying to reach and what is your message?
If you can answer those two questions, the 'what' will follow. Too often, we lose sight of those basic questions and the finished product fails to communicate our original ideas.
My philosophy is simple. For me, writing is a process. Whether I'm crafting a magazine feature about a Delta farmer, documenting a business procedure, or gathering content for a website, the process changes little. It's about listening and gathering the right information- in order to communicate the right ideas.
So, what do I write?
Browse around and see for yourself.
My Background
I have always been fascinated by language and my early and advanced education focused on foreign languages, specifically French. Later, I spent years in domestic and international corporate operations where I assisted in two system conversions, participated in SOX compliance projects, and gained an invaluable understanding of large organizations.
While I have written as long as I can remember, I have been writing commercially since 2003. Editors, publishers, business owners, and corporations hire me regularly. On the publication side, I have published non-fiction essays and hundreds of articles across a wide range of industries, professions and lifestyles. And I thrive on the variety. |
